5 years ago today we launched our website!
Holy shit we made it to the 5 year mark!
Which is a huge milestone for small businesses!
Yet all day, hell actually this whole year, I've felt bummed because we are NOWHERE NEAR where I thought we would be at the 5 year mark. And because I had a big plan to relaunch the website with a bunch of new designs and offerings today. And because of a million other reasons...
And then I thought to myself...STOP.
We have dealt with some pretty heavy shit in the past few years.
We basically opened 2 businesses--Snarky Cancer, which pays it forward, and Mutant Printing, which pays the bills.
Losing some of my closest friends when their bodies were done fighting.
Running the business with just me, Tre and Mike for almost 3 years.
A pandemic that came out of nowhere and threw us for a loop.
Leukemia, the asshole, decided my blood was a great place to live.
And the biggest blow of all, Tre was diagnosed with metastatic disease.
BUT WE ARE STILL HERE.
WE ARE STILL GROWING.
WE HAVE A PHENOMENAL TEAM.
WE ARE STILL GIVING AND PAYING IT FORWARD.
WE WILL HIT $200K PAID OUT TO FAMILIES AND NONPROFITS.
The timeline and amounts may not be what I had planned, but isn't that exactly what cancer does to all of our lives?
Isn't that what it's done to our family for so many years?
So fuck the deadlines and the pressure.
The sale is coming...the new stuff is coming.
But today I'm remembering that the entire reason we started this business was to MAKE CANCER SUCK A LITTLE LESS.
And we've done just that.
Thank you for being here with us.
We are just getting started.

This morning I opened up our business email as usual. One of our t-shirt fundraisers had just closed and the recipient emailed me her family t-shirt sizes and her address for us to send her check. She closed her email with this:
"Thank you for all of your support. Just to see the people supporting us is breathtaking”
Instant tears in my eyes. And the good kind.
