About Us

Hello and welcome!

Unless you have no sense of humor, then this site probably isn't for you.

I'm Trish, the one in the middle. The handsome guy in purple is my son Tre. The other handsome guy is my husband, Mike.

We started Snarky Cancer in 2017 to raise funds and spirits for people dealing with the shit show that is cancer. At that time, Tre was just healing from his 4th cancer diagnosis.  You see, Tre and I are super mutants, carrying mutations in both the CHEK2 and TP53 genes, also known as Li-Fraumeni Syndrome.

One of the main reasons I started Snarky was for Tre. For him to have purpose and be able to work when he felt up to it. We worked together until he was diagnosed with cancer number 5 in September of 2020, a recurrence of the leiomyosarcoma (cancer #2).  Unfortunately, that cancer was incredibly aggressive, and he developed metastases by December of that year. Tre was the ultimate sarcoma warrior. And he and I shared so many snarky jokes. Whenever he felt well enough, he would come to the shop and work.

During this time, he and I worked together on our special project, a port shirt. ImPORTant Apparel was launched and he was so damn proud of it.  We had big plans, but sometimes things don't go as planned.

Tre died on 8/17/2023, just 8 days after his 31st birthday. He was and still is my favorite person, my hero and the thing that keeps me going.

During all this time, I was diagnosed and treated for Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia, which recurred in the fall of 2025 at the same time I was diagnosed with Stage 3 lung cancer. So yeah, it's been a hell of a journey.

Snarky is changing this year as it's just not the same for me without Tre. We will still have some fun, snarky, cancer-related items.  We will still work with our favorite non-profits for fundraising.  We will definitely still be selling our Port Shirts!!! But I will spend most of my time focusing on a different way to help cancer patients.

In the meantime, check out our site and our sale, and if you feel like it, purchase something for yourself or someone you love.

Cancering, yes, we use cancer as a verb, SUCKS.  But the people you meet are fucking awesome.

Snark on people!
